Lot 204 Engineer Trousers Mix Brown

Wide fit, long, straight legged trousers cut from a sturdy wool/cotton moleskin with a unique flecked colour achieved by dyeing only the wool fibres. Feature a button fly with a button closure, front slash pockets, rear square patch pockets, and a buckled waist cinch. Based on a pair of work pants dating from the late eighteenth century, the generous leg stands away from the body from hip to hem providing a structural column like silhouette; when the trousers break at the ankle, they have a flared character. Constructed using chain stitched flat felled seams through the seat and inseam for increased durability at regions of frequent abrasion; completed tarnished, hand cast metal buttons.
